INNISFREE INDIA CELEBRATES INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY WITH PINKISHE, PAVING THE WAY FOR IMPROVED FEMALE HEALTH & HYGIENE
Menstrual hygiene is a huge problem in India.
Unfortunately, mensuration is a subject that still largely remains
a taboo, it is not a subject that is openly discussed. Hence, the
scale of the problem and its devastating impacts are less known.
The efforts of the government and a few individuals alone with
not suffice. It requires contribution by the whole civil society,
hence innisfree India as a Corporate took a step forward for this
and extended a to support Indian Women for their basic need
on this International Women's Day in association with Pinkishe
- a Non Profit Organization which runs multiple programs from
the benefits of girls and women the flagship of them being
PadBank, under which we work on spreading Menstrual Hygiene
awareness and distributing free reusable sanitary pads to slums
and rural areas.
Under the program resusable biodegrable sanitary napkins were distributed to 100 under-priviledged girls at a
government school in Old Gurgaon, India. The event saw an interactive session, where the girls were given talks on
menstrual hygiene education, along with a sustainable reusable cloth pads, hand sanitizers, sweets, and products
from innisfree. Interestingly enough, the cloth pads will take care of the menstuator’s needs for over two years.
The event is a beginning to mark a long term association of innisfree India with Pinkishe which cares about the
Menstrual hygiene of women.
